WHY SHOULD I ADD AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION?

An engagement session is basically a warm up for the wedding day. I get it, getting pictures can feel super awkward! But I want to put you at ease and tell you that it's not as daunting as you might be anticipating. I strive towards capturing my couples in a natural way without overly posed pictures, that end up coming across as stiff and staged. My goal is to get you both to let loose, hug each other, kiss each other, cuddle up together and create some genuine laughs between you two. It's all about real emotion and the love between you both. It's a time to take a break from the craziness of wedding planning, focus on each other and truly just unwind. After this session, you will be pros at expressing yourselves and your quirks in front of me and the camera, so that on your wedding day, it will be as easy as looking each other in the eyes and genuinely feeling the excitement of becoming Mr. and Mrs. I don't view you as a client, but a friend, and anything goes during our sessions....Judgement free! 

 

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR FOR OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION?

 

Okay, so this is a big one and something that I know takes a lot of planning. But I am here to help you and give some recommendations that will guarantee your photos come out their absolute best! I think the first and most important thing is to wear outfits that represent your personal style and show who you are as a couple. Whether that be suspenders and a bowtie or shorts with a button up, you want to feel comfortable and confident in what you're wearing . With this in mind, be sure your outfits coordinate, but don't necessarily match. However, you will want the styles you are both wearing to go together seamlessly. If you are going for a casual look, both of you should be dressed casually and the same goes if you are wanting a more formal style. Note to ladies...you can never go wrong with a long flowy dress! They are my absolute favorite type of clothing to photograph and look great with pretty much any background and style. As far as colors, I would say stick to neutral and muted tones. This doesn't mean color is out of the question...I love color! But think along the lines of navy blue or sky blue verses a bright royal blue for example. Many bright tones can translate differently in camera and can create a color cast on your skin. Also, be aware of busy patterns, distracting logos and the color black. Think about the location of your photos and what colors/tones would work well with the setting. ABOUT HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE RECEIVE FOR OUR SESSION AND WEDDING DAY?

An engagement session typically yields about 75-150 digital edited images. You will be sent a link which will allow you to view, share, download and make prints of your images for 90 days. As far as your wedding day, the amount widely varies depending on the time covered and the events happening. However, you can estimate anywhere from 50-100 images per hour of coverage. These photos are all fully edited and handpicked, to be sure you are receiving the best of the best. The photos I choose not to deliver would be those that are duplicates, a misfire, maybe a not so attractive facial expression and anything that doesn't bring along with it clarity and quality. This ensures a beautiful final gallery full of the best emotions, moments and style.

Yes! Send me a message and I will gladly provide a list of locations I am familiar with. I am also always open to new places if you have somewhere different in mind!

DO YOU HAVE BACK UP EQUIPMENT FOR OUR SESSION AND WEDDING DAY?

Absolutely! Having back up equipment is essential to being a photographer. I have two professional Nikon cameras, with a range of different lenses, as well as flashes and lighting equipment. In addition to these, I will always have back up batteries, SD cards etc. for whatever the day throws my way!  

HOW LONG WILL IT BE UNTIL WE RECEIVE OUR FINAL IMAGES?

For sessions, please allow up to 4 weeks to receive the link to your gallery. For weddings, please allow up to 4-6 weeks to receive your final images. You will have access to an online gallery for both your session and wedding. A USB will also be delivered via mail of your session and wedding day.  

ARE YOUR WEDDING PACKAGES FLEXIBLE?

Absolutely! While the minimum amount of time that can be booked is 4 hours, you can add and subtract time to any package in order to create the perfect fit for your day. Every wedding is different and I don't believe in forcing a package you don't need. In addition to the base time included, an engagement, bridal or lifestyle session can be added, as well as a photo/usb box, prints, canvas prints, an album or additional photographer. 

WILL YOU TRAVEL FOR MY SESSION OR WEDDING?

I am located in Missoula, MT, but will definitely travel for your big day! Typically I will stay a certain distance within the state or nearby states, but would just add a lodging and travel fee which will be added to your proposal prior to booking. If in doubt, just ask!
